MAD PET - Dog Faces Trial For Biting Bank Worker’s Penis In Lagos

The police in Lagos State, southwest Nigeria, have arrested and charged a dog with biting a bank worker’s penis at
Idowu Anisere Street, off Governor’s Road in Ikotun, Lagos.
The police also charged the owner of the dog, Adebowale Gabriel, 31, before Mrs M.B. Folami at Ejigbo Magistrate’s
Court Lagos according to PM News.
The dog was specifically charged with assault, while Gabriel was charged with negligence under the Criminal Code.
The arrest of the dog and Gabriel followed a complaint by the victim, Mr. Simon Anwam, to the police in Ikotun
division that when he was walking on the street, the dog pounced on him and inflicted deep injury on his penis. Narrating what happened, Anwam who hails from Akwa Ibom State, southsouth Nigeria, said when he was returning
home from work and he had almost reached his house, he met Gabriel on the way holding his dog with chain. He said he was surprised when the dog jumped on him and bit his penis before he could be rescued from it. Anwam narrated that when he discovered that his trousers
was stained with blood, he quickly rushed home to check his penis and discovered that he had been severely  injured. He complained that after the incident, he could not urinate easily. He explained that when he attempted to urinate, blood flowed from his penis and he had to urinate with the aid of a pipe.
Anwam said when he went to a private hospital for treatment he was referred to the General Hospital on Lagos Island.
Following the incident, the police in Ikotun division arrested the dog Gabriel.
Confirming the incident, Gabriel said he was surprised the way his dog attacked Anwam. He said he was holding the dog with chain when the dog suddenly attacked the bank worker who was passing by. Gabriel said he had pleaded with Anwam and his wife about the incident and he has also offered to pay for his medical treatment before the police charged him to court. When the dog and Gabriel were about to be arraigned, their plea was not taken.
The prosecutor, Mr Nicholas Atumonye, told the court that the parties involved in the matter wanted to settle out of
court. He told the court that the complainant had written a letter of
withdrawal.

Policeman sentenced to death by hanging for killing 20yr old man

Justice has finally come the way of the family of slain Emmanuel Victor (pictured above), a 20 year old young
man who was killed in front of his mother by a trigger-happy Policeman, Mathew Egheghe, two years ago in
Yenogoa, Bayelsa state. Victor was shot dead after he confronted a group of
policemen who were trying to extort money from motorists as he was coming back from church. Angered by his effrontery to question their action, Policeman Egheghe moved close to Victor and shot him at close range.
Narrating what happened, Victor's mother Grace, who witnessed the incident said:
"They shot my son brutally. As he fell while they were shooting him, the tallest of them still continued shooting him on the ground". She said she was harassed and stopped from going close to her dying son even as he lay gasping for life in the pool of his own blood.
Delivering his judgement on the case, Justice Lucky Boufili said that such a cruel act was only punishable by the
maximum penalty which is death. He sentenced Mathew Egheghe to death by Hanging. The police has since dismissed Mathew Egheghe and his two accomplices from the force.

Woman beats up son-in-law for failing to impregnate her daughter (PHOTO)

A married man is said to have been beaten up by his mother-in-law for not being able to get her daughter pregnant.
Thembelani Dube is said to have been battered by Onzilina Mpala for failing to provide her with a second grandchild
with his wife, Virginia Ndlovu. The couple has a 3-year-old daughter and both the mother-in-law and the wife blame Dube for the lack of another child.
According to reports :
It is alleged that Dube, who has been married to Virginia for six years and has a three-year-old daughter, courted
the ire of his mother-in-law after he failed impregnate the woman’s daughter for the second time. The distressed
man claimed that his wife further told her mother that he was weak in bed and was therefore failing to impregnate
her. “I have been customarily married to Virginia Ndlovu for six years and we are blessed with a baby girl aged three. She is denying me my conjugal rights and she is sleeping with other men whom she is saying are better than me. This started when I left her at our house while
going to my rural home,” he said. “When I discovered it I called her mother Onzillina Mpala to come and reprimand her but she went on to insult me saying I deserve it and was not man enough because I stayed with her daughter for six years with only one child. Sometime in September Mpala together with her other daughter, Sithabile Ndlovu, assaulted me with a stick accusing me of failing to impregnate Virginia for the
second time,” he added. In response, both Virgini and Onzillia denied the allegations with Virginia saying she called her mother to her house to
play the role of a peacemaker over the marital disputes which were causing them to fight on daily basis.

Mom was having sex with male friend while her kids died in hot car

The mother of the two boys who died of hyperthermia has been arrested. Authorities say they found out she was
having sex with her boyfriend while the kids were left alone for two hours with the heat on in the car. (The boys and
their father pictured above) The story below...
A mother whose children died after she locked them in the car with a heater running, while she had sex in another vehicle, is on trial for homicide. Prosecutors say Heather Jensen, 25, carried out a "death sentence" against her two young sons when she locked them in the hot car, Fox 31 Denver reports. The charges against Ms Jensen include criminally negligent homicide, child abuse resulting in death and false reporting. Continue...
"Ms Jensen created the situation that caused her children to die," prosecutor Danielle Lewis said in opening
statements. Her defence says her actions should be assessed with
regard to her low IQ, her youth and the fact her husband died six weeks earlier in a car accident. "It was a tragedy, but it was an accident. It was not a crime," said public defender Elsa Archambault.
Ms Jensen sobbed loudly as her trial opened last week in Mesa County District Court, Colorado. Ms Jensen’s sons, William, 2, and 4-year-old Tyler, died on November 27, 2012. She told her new live-in boyfriend she was taking the boys to play in the snow and drove
them to a snow park, where she met up with a male friend to have sex in the car park. At first, she left the two boys in the car with the heat on and the doors unlocked. After about 30 minutes, Tyler opened the door and Ms Jensen returned him to her car, gave him a mobile phone to play with and secured the child locks before returning to her friend. The children are said to have spent 90 minutes in the car, where an investigation revealed temperatures could have reached 60 degrees Celsius. Both boys died from hyperthermia.
Ms Jensen’s defence attributes her poor decision making to her low IQ of 76, which makes her borderline developmentally disabled. A boyfriend also told investigating police that Ms Jensen had smoked marijuana the day before the children died. In the three months leading up to the deaths, she had failed court-ordered drug tests three times, the Daily Sentinel reports. The testing was tied to a March 2012 arrest for domestic violence. Her husband Eric had told police Ms Jensen became violent after he confronted her about
spending time with friends who supplied her with painkillers Vicodin and Percocet. Following the deaths of her sons, Ms Jensen also violated the terms of her probation and left Colorado for Florida, to be with her family. "I believe it would be a great opportunity for me to start my life over again in Florida, and being surrounded by all my family who loves me to help me get through the losses I’ve had in this past month," Ms Jensen wrote in the letter to a Mesa County judge. "And I would greatly appreciate it if you will let me move on with my life in Florida. "Ms Jensen's request was denied and she was arrested at her mother's home in North Fort Myers, Florida on January 16, 2013.
The jury deciding the case was made up of 10 women and five men, but a judge removed one of the jurors from the
trial when he found out she added a witness from the trial as a friend on Facebook, CBS Denver reports. The trial is expected to run for nine days.

2 brothers die of magun after sleeping with uncles? wives in Ibadan

Two brothers, Kunmi and Adeniyi Adetokun died within days of each late last year in Oyo state and family members say it was after they slept with their uncles' wives. The uncle, (pictured above) is accused of killing the brothers with a deadly anti-adultery charm commonly known as Magun. He was attacked and nearly killed by irate youths following the death of the second brother. He is lying critically ill in a hospital in Ibadan. Tribune reports the full story. Find it below... The incident happened at Jagun community near Iyana Ofa, Lagelu Local Government Area of Oyo State towards the end of 2013 when two blood brothers, Kunmi and Adeniyi Adetokun, died, one after the other, within three days, allegedly of a local charm used to punish adulterous men, commonly referred to as magun in Yoruba. This literally translates ?don?t climb? in English. But the two brothers climbed the metaphorical mountains that were too high for them. And they somersaulted down the hills, breaking their necks in the process. The occurrence, however, sparked off anger among the youth of the community, resulting in them setting ablaze the residence of the Balogun of the community, Chief Segun Oyetade, the deceased?s uncle, as he was suspected to have been responsible for the duo?s death. They also attacked him with weapons but was only saved when the youth got a hint that policemen were approaching. The scene opened on Monday, December 2, 2013 when Kunmi reportedly died after having sex with a woman allegedly laced with magun and who was said to be his aunt-in-law. The woman was said to be his uncle?s wife. On December 5, three days after Kunmi?s death, his younger brother, Adeniyi, was also reported to have died of unknown ailment which he battled with for a couple of weeks after allegedly sleeping with the wife of Chief Oyetade?s brother, whose name was given simply as Femi. According to the information gathered by Saturday Tribune, Niyi was the one who fell ill first after he slumped and started vomitting blood. His brother, Kunmi, was reportedly taking care of him at a hospital at Lalupon community. It was further learnt that Kunmi left Niyi at Lalupon and went to Jagun community where he allegedly had sex with his uncle?s wife. His own illness did not take much time before it consumed him and he died three days after it manifested. Having noticed this, Niyi reportedly opened up that he slept with Femi?s wife, which confirmed the suspicion of the villagers that he must have been hit with the deadly charm. A member of the community described the type of magun used on Niyi as Olorere which usually takes days or weeks before killing the man who sleeps with the woman laced with such. After Kunmi?s death, Chief Oyetade was reportedly summoned by the Baale of Jagun community, Chief Isiaka Akinpelu, who asked him about the allegation that he laced his wife with magun. The man denied and the Baale appealed to him to find the antidote so that Niyi could be healed. The Balogun reportedly came back to the village head to demand for N4,000 which he said was the fee demanded by the herbalist who volunteered to prepare the antidote. Members of the community were said to have contributed the money but before he brought it, Niyi gave up the ghost. Niyi?s death after his brother?s spurred the community?s anger as Chief Oyetade was also accused of sleeping with the mother of the two brothers, which prompted the question on why he should be angry that someone was having an affair with his wife or his brother?s wife, to the extent that he could aim at killing the brothers. The anger led to the attack on him while his house was set on fire and his wife and children sent out of the community in the dead of the night. Chief Isiaka Akinpelu, who was said to have got a hint of the youth?s plan to attack Chief Oyetade, had reportedly gone to Iyana Ofa Police Division to quickly give the information to the police but before they got back to the village, the youth had struck. As they saw the approaching policemen, they were said to have fled in different directions, leaving the injured chief to his fate. However, Chief Oyetade, during an interview with Saturday Tribune on hospital bed where he was receiving treatment, alleged that it was the Baale who sent the youth to attack him because of a tussle between them over a piece of land. He denied the allegation that he laced the women with magun, saying that his accusers were only trying to tarnish his image. ?What I only heard was that Niyi was sick, but I didn?t know the kind of ailment because he was living at Lalupon. Later the Baale called me and some elders, saying that my nephew, Femi, laced his wife with magun, which resulted in Niyi?s illness. I didn?t believe the allegation because Niyi had been ill for some weeks and from the story we used to hear about magun, it doesn?t take so long before being felt. ?They went further to say that I was the one who gave Femi the magun which he laced his wife with, accusing me of doing same for my wife, which led to Kunmi?s death. I exclaimed in shock, disclosing that my wife was pregnant and wondering how one would lace a pregnant woman with a charm such as magun. ?It was after this that Chief Akinpelu said he was after the wellness of Niyi, tasking me and the head of Niyi?s family, one Mr Adewale Adekambi, to go and look for the antidote. By then, Niyi was being cared for in Ibadan and it was Ibadan we went to seek the antidote. Unfortunately, Niyi died on Thursday, December 5. I joined Niyi?s sibling, Seun and his aunt in taking the corpse away from where he died. As we wanted to take him to the cemetery, his brother said we should take him home, unknown to me that it was a trap set for me. As soon as I disembarked from the vehicle, hoodlums descended on me with sticks, pestle and cutlasses. I kept asking them of my offence and when they saw that I did not collapse, one of them struck me with an axe on the head and I fell down. ?A sympathiser called the Baale to inform him of what happened to me but before he came, I was already crawling away. A community member saw me and jeered at me, saying: ?Where are you going? Your house and property are still going for it. ?He said the disagreement between him and Chief Akinpelu occurred when he sold his own father?s parcel of land and the Baale challenged him by saying that he did not inform him. ?He has no business with the land. My brother and I agreed before the land was sold and it belonged to our father,? Chief Oyetade said. Saturday Tribune gathered that the police detectives, led by the Divisional Police Officer, Iyana Ofa, Mrs Justina Ogunleye, took the victim to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. Chief Oyetade?s wife, Rachael, also narrated her ordeal thus: ?I was invited by the Baale and he asked me about Kunmi?s death. I told him that I did not know anything about it. I also swore in the presence of the elders seated, asking if anyone of them had ever seen my nakedness. It was when I was raining curses that the Baale asked me to go. ?On Thursday, December 5, my husband travelled to Ibadan and told me he was not coming back. At about 11:00p.m., I heard a knock on my door and when I opened, I saw four men who asked me to leave with my children without picking a pin, threatening that if I delayed, they would burn us with the house. ?I slept in the bush with my children, among who was a two-year-old, and at dawn, we trekked to a town near Ibadan, from where we took a bike to Iyana-Ofa. From there, I boarded a bus to Ibadan. I tried to contact my husband but could not get him. It was later I learnt that he had been attacked.? When contacted, the police spokesperson in Oyo State, DSP Olabisi Okuwobi-Ilobanafor, confirmed the development, disclosing that two of the suspected arsonists and attackers had been arrested. She added that the Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Indabawa, had ordered that the case be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Iyaganku, Ibadan, for further investigation.

Florida Deputy Flagged For Assistance Sexually Assaults Woman In Need

Lake County, FL. Deputy Matthew Donnelly was arrested and charged with sexual battery. Another cop, sworn to uphold the law, takes advantage of his authority and violates an innocent woman. As well as his oath to protect and serve.

The affidavit against the sheriff’s deputy alleges.

After a New Year’s Eve night out, the victim’s boyfriend flagged down Deputy Donnelly. His girlfriend needed help after she had passed out.
Instead of assisting the woman immediately, Deputy Donnelly detained the boyfriend in the rear of the squad car on suspicion of drunk driving.
The victim was startled awake by a man’s voice she did not recognize telling her she was “[expletive] sexy”. He then proceeded to grope and manually rape her.
The deputy then told the victim he wouldn’t take the boyfriend to jail if she cooperated and kept quiet. After he finished, Donnelly contacted relatives to pick up the intoxicated couple.
Later, after the victim was in the safety of loved ones she explained the incident. Those relatives contacted detectives and the investigation began.

The investigation results.

Lake County Sheriff spokesman John Herrell said that the victim had a sexual assault examination and the evidence supported her claim. Deputy Donnelly’s patrol car was tested. Even though the victim was never in the car, her DNA was found on the steering wheel, gearshift knob and his personal flashlight.
Additionally, Donnelly’s patrol car camera showed the boyfriend flagging down the officer. But, during the alleged sexual assault, the camera was turned off for 22 minutes. When the camera was restarted the image of the scene was different then when it was stopped.
Herrell said that the evidence against Donnelly is so strong that, even if he’s found innocent in court, he likely won’t work in law enforcement again. Donnelly has made bail. He’s out of jail for the time being. But Lake County Sheriffs officials have already begun the termination process of former deputy Donnelly.

French president splits with first lady

Separation from Valerie Trierweiler announced two weeks after magazine exposed Hollande's affair with film actress.

Francois Hollande, the French president, has announced his separation Valerie Trierweiler, France's first lady, following a media storm over allegations he is having an affair with an actress.
Hollande, 59, sought to put an end to turbulence that began two weeks ago when Closer, a celebrity magazine, published a report that he was having an affair with Julie Gayet, a film actress and a Socialist Party supporter.
"I wish to make it known that I have ended my partnership with Valerie Trierweiler," Hollande said on Saturday.
Announcing the separation, Hollande said he was speaking as an individual and not as head of state since it concerned his private life.
Questions over Hollande's personal life - and whether Trierweiler, 48, was still first lady - have diverted public attention from a shift he made this month towards more business-friendly policies aimed at reviving France's economy in the face of high unemployment.
A news conference to unveil the economic plans was overshadowed by questions over Hollande's private life, as was a trip to Rome to meet the pope on Friday.
Trierweiler, an arts columnist for the weekly magazine Paris Match, was not married to Hollande but they had been together since 2006.
She assumed the role of first lady at official functions following his election in May 2012, and like her predecessors, maintained an office with a budget of roughly 20,000 euros per month.
Trip to India
Trierweiler was hospitalised for eight days for fatigue after news of the affair broke, and had since been staying in a secluded secondary residence belonging to Hollande near Versailles.
She left the house, known as la Lanterne, on Saturday afternoon and would not return, according to a person close to the French presidency.
In her first public statement, Trierweiler thanked the staff of the Elysee presidential palace on Twitter.
"I will never forget their devotion, nor the emotion at the time of my departure," she wrote.
Trierweiler was expected to travel to India on Sunday in honour of an anti-hunger charity, and French media reports said she may speak at a news conference there.
Trierweiler has been a particularly unpopular first lady, according to a BVA poll. About eight percent of respondents had a favourable view of her, compared to 28 percent for Carla Bruni-Sarkozy, the ex-model and pop star wife of Sarkozy, and 46 percent for Bernadette Chirac, wife of Jacques Chirac.
Hollande has four children from a previous relationship with Segolene Royal, a senior member of his Socialist Party and a 2007 presidential candidate. Royal announced their separation just after she lost the 2007 election to Nicolas Sarkozy.
The reports of Hollande's affair have had little effect on his image and French media largely focused onCloser's unprecedented breach of presidential privacy rather than on the relationship with Gayet.
A poll by Ifop shortly after the magazine report showed that 84 percent of those surveyed had not changed their opinion about Hollande and that 77 percent considered it a private matter.
Even so, Hollande is the most unpopular president in modern France, according to opinion polls. He has struggled to live up to a promise to get unemployment, currently stuck near 11 percent, firmly on a downward trend.

Miracle Baby After 23-Years Of Marriage! Nigeria's Former Minister Of Interior, Humphrey Abah & Wife Welcome Baby

Former Minister of State for Interior, Humphrey Abah and his wife, Mrs Mary Abah, who he marred 23 years ago welcomed a baby recently. 49 year old Mary, who is a lawyer and banker, shared her experience and  her challenges of being married for so long without a child and the support she got from her husband with Punch.

Did you have any health challenge when you were growing up that could have delayed your giving birth?
Not really, it was much later in life that the health challenge came. I have been a banker since 1987 when I undertook my National Youth Service Corps. I served in a bank as a lawyer. I continued to work in the bank thereafter. Because I ended up in the banking industry, I decided to update myself in everything related to the industry.
During these trying moments in your life, did you feel that somebody somewhere was responsible for your predicament?
The truth is that in the whole of the 23 years, I refused to focus on such things.  I didn’t worry about who it was, what it was, where it was or how it was. I did not want to get myself involved in what would cause me anguish for the rest of my life.

You are from Cross River State while your husband is from Kogi State. Was there resistance from your parents when you initially wanted to marry Mr. Humphrey Abbah?
The way we met each other was very peculiar and our marriage was also peculiar. Our families did not actually affect us. They were not there when we met and when we started courting. Our families were not so involved and when it came to the decision of marriage, we took that decision on our own but involved our families later. My husband is not somebody that you can force to do something which he doesn’t believe in. So, even when we got married, that was already established in his family . When he said this was the young lady he wanted to marry, I don’t think he had too much opposition. If there was any at all, it was very insignificant. The truth is that my father-in-law was a very lovely person; a gentleman who had a lot of respect for his son.  By the time we got married, his mother was late and my parents were late too. So, his father was the focal point and the cordial relationship they had made it easy. The rest of my family and the elders gave us a little bit of tough time as you would expect in inter-cultural marriages. But it didn’t take us time to be able to woo them to our side and that was it.
At what stage did you begin to get worried?
My first signal was when I was 30 years and three years in my marriage. At first, it didn’t really worry me because as a career person, I felt we should take it in our stride. I was already beginning to make waves in the banking industry and the demands of the job were already telling on me. Also in my innocence, I didn’t really feel it was an issue. But by the time I was 30 and nothing had happened, I asked myself, ‘what’s going on here?’ Then I began to be conscious of it and started making deliberate efforts to get pregnant. Before this time, there was no real effort. When the pregnancy was not forthcoming, I began to suspect that there was a real problem. But as usual, I went to the doctors, they said there was no problem and suggested that I should give myself time because I was a busy lady. But after about a year, I went back and they gave me one or two interpretations as to what could be wrong and we started tackling it from there and it came to the point that by 2011, the doctors were saying nothing could be done.
"When they told me I was pregnant, I screamed and cried in the hospital and everyone present rose up and gave thanks to the Lord. Since then, the story has been one testimony after another. But that was not all, when I was to put to bed, I was told there might be complications as a result of all the operations I had done. They said that might make it a very difficult and dangerous birth. Yet, the Lord saw me through. It feels great and I thank the Lord for wiping away my tears and making me a mother at last. It is a dream I have had since I married at the age of 27. Now, I am more than 49 years old, it has taken a long time but the Lord has done it for me. I have shed a lot of tears. Our story is like that of Abraham and Sarah. I am already in menopause but I told God that if He did it for Sarah and gave her womb the strength to conceive, then He would give my womb the same strength. Even when doctors in London told me in 2011 that nothing could be done, I knew that it is only Him (the Lord) that could help me. I focussed on the Lord and He did it for me."

Congratulations on the arrival of your baby 23 years after marriage. Did you ever think it was going to be like this?
Before I got married, my view of the marriage institution was that marriage was a sanctuary; a place where a woman could actualise her dream together with her partner. I understood very early that marriage usually gives some form of security and the expectation was that in it, one should blossom, be fruitful and multiply generally as the Bible says. That was basically how I saw marriage in my youthful age because I finally married at the age of 27 and I was still quite young.
In essence, you did not anticipate the challenge of having a baby…
No, I didn’t anticipate it, the truth is that as a young child who was brought up by a very strict mother, I saw life as a bit of calculation: a sort of ‘1+1 =2 and 2+2=4.’ So if you get married, you expect that after nine months, as they say, you will have a child or children. My challenge has made me very sensitive to what parents and well wishers normally do at wedding ceremonies. During a wedding, people start talking about gathering again for a naming ceremony after nine months. They say it as a joke but that is the genesis of pressure on married women. So, if yours doesn’t happen after nine months, there is a question mark there and you begin to fret and other problems come in.
Which was your first point of call, church or hospital?
By 1991 when we got married, we became born again and the church had become a focal point and integral part of our lives. We were praying and fasting; good relationship with the leadership of the church had become part of our daily lives and so the church was always there for us. The church was never against consulting orthodox doctors. The only no-go area for us was to seek help outside God. So I think that was why very early in the journey of this crisis, we knew that anything outside God was not an alternative to take at all.

Man Claiming To Be Prophet Mohammed Gets Sentenced to Death For Blasphemy!

A 65-year-old British national faces the death penalty in Pakistan after a court in Rawalpindi found him guilty of blasphemy.

Mohammed Asghar, who was sentenced on Friday, was arrested in Sadiqabad in 2010 for writing letters claiming to be a prophet.
Asghar, a British national of Pakistani origin, has a history of mental illness according to his lawyers.
He was charged under section 295-C of the Pakistani Penal Code. It states: “Whoever by words, either spoken or written, or by visible representation or by any imputation, innuendo, or insinuation, directly or indirectly, defiles the sacred name of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), shall be punished with death or imprisonment for life, and shall also be liable to fine.”
Asghar's legal team said it was effectively prevented from representing him after the judge appointed state lawyers. It will file an appeal against the sentence.
A spokesman from the Justice Pakistan Project, which represents him, said: "There was a trial but we are unclear as to what happened. Blasphemy casesare heard in prison because it is too unsafe for them to be heard in open court. It is a security concern. We are not happy with the way the case proceeded. We didn't back out of the case."
The spokesman did not confirm whether it had contacted Asghar's family in Scotland. Nor would it give details on Asghar's mental illness, although it said there was documentary evidence of it.
The British High Commission told Al Jazeera: "We can't give any information, other than we are aware of the case."
The special court inside Rawalpindi's Adiala Jail, where Asghar is being held, rejected the defence team's claims that the 65-year-old suffered mental health problems.
Pakistani media reported that the public prosecutor, Javed Gul, produced a copy of the letters Asghar wrote and that four police officials gave evidence against him. Handwriting experts also gave evidence, saying the letters had been written by him.
Rights body, Amnesty International, has called for Asghar's "immediate and unconditional release".
"Mohammad Asghar is now facing the gallows simply for writing a series of letters. He does not deserve punishment...," said Polly Truscott, Amnesty International’s Deputy Asia Pacific Director.
The UK travel advisory for Britons travelling to Pakistan does not mention the blasphemy law; it only says visitors should remember that "laws reflect the fact that Pakistan is a Muslim country. You should respect local customs and sensitivities at all times, especially during the holy month of Ramadan or if you intend to visit religious areas."
The maximum penalty for breaking the country's blasphemy laws is death.
However, there has been an unofficial moratorium on civilian hangings since 2008 and only one person has been executed since then - a soldier convicted by court martial.
"The blasphemy laws undermine the rule of law, and people facing charges risk death and other harm in detention. Pakistan must immediately release Mohammed Ashgar and reform its blasphemy laws to ensure that this will not happen again," said Truscott.
A second British national, 72-year-old Masood Ahmed, was jailed in November on blasphemy charges after he was secretly filmed reading the Quran.
Ahmad belongs to the minority Ahmadiyya sect, considered to be heretics in Pakistan. They were declared non-Muslim in 1974 by the Pakistan government and have severely restricted religious practices, including a ban on quoting from the Quran

PHOTOS: Hong Kong billionaire doubles reward for any man who can make lesbian daughter straight ($130 Million!)

Hong Kong billionaire Cecil Chao, has offered a whooping $130million to any man who can sweep his lesbian daughter, Gigi Chao (right) off her feet, marry her and give him grandchildren. Gigi ran away with her female lover sometime last year in France.
In a recent interview with Financial Times, Mr Chao said:
“I will give them a moderately deluxe life. I would not force her to marry a man, but obviously I would prefer her to be married and give me grand children”
Gigi Chao in an interview with Malaysian newspaper, Nanyang Siang Pau, said;
“I don’t think my dad’s offering of any amount of money would be able to attract a man I would find attractive. I would be happy to befriend any man willing to donate huge amounts of money to my charity, Faith in Love, provided they don’t mind that I already have a wife. Third and lastly, thank you daddy, I love you too.”

US confirms PDP chieftain, Kashamu is still wanted on drug charges

imageThe estranged associate of former President, Olusegun Obasanjo and chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Ogun State, Buruji Kashamu, is still wanted by the United States authorities for drugs smuggling.
This confirmation was made yesterday by the US Department of Justice to news site, AfricanSpotlight.
In an e-mail correspondence, Randall Samborn, Public Information Officer of the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Chicago said, “There is still a warrant for his arrest in the United States, and the case remains pending.”
“Last week, his attorneys filed a new motion to dismiss the indictment in U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, and that is set for a status hearing on Jan. 31, at which time the Court will likely set a briefing schedule for both sides to submit written arguments before any decision is made.”But Kashamu, Chairman of the Organisation and Mobilisation Committee of the PDP, South West, has maintained he is not a fugitive, accusing Obasanjo of working against him because he had lost relevance in the ruling party.
It would be recalled that the ex-president in an open letter to President Goodluck Jonathan and the leadership of the PDP, declared his intention to withdraw from PDP activities, over Kashamu’ installation as a party leader in the South-West region.
Earlier, he accused the Federal Government of shielding the party financier, whom he described as a “habitual criminal”, from extradition to the US to face trial.
Obasanjo, it was gathered, backed his claim with a cache of incriminating documents on Kashamu, including court papers and media clippings.
One of the documents, a clip of the Chicago Tribune newspaper edition of November 14, 2013, marked No 1, quoted the U.S attorney’s office as saying “Mr. Kashamu is still wanted on charges alleging his drug ring where he moved millions of dollars’ worth of heroin from Europe and Southeast Asia through O’Hare International Airport during the 1990s.”

CLO demands justice as expatriate kills Nigerian in Enugu

Tension is building up in Enugu State over the alleged killing of a Nigerian, simply identified as Arinze by an expatriate, Abdul Lateef. DailyPost gathered that both Lateef and Arinze are working with the
Arab Construction Company in the State. It was gathered that they were working at the construction site of the new Workers’ Secretariat in Enugu when the incident occurred. A source told DailyPost in Enugu that “the incident happened around 11:30 am today, (Thursday). “The white man identified as Abdul Lateef, from one of the Arab speaking countries is a superior worker with the construction company.
“He and the deceased were on the 2nd floor of one of the buildings under construction, when they had disagreement on how a particular work should be done; the said white man for reasons best known to him pushed the deceased down”, the source disclosed. He added that there was uproar in the company yard as other workers wanted to lynch the expatriate but for the timely intervention of the police from the
state headquarters, who whisked him away to safety. DailyPost learnt that Arinze was later rushed to the hospital, where he was confirmed dead. Reacting to the development, the Civil Liberties Oraganization, CLO, in a statement signed the South-East coordinator, Olu Omotayo, said the suspect should be tried for murder. In the statement entitled, “UNLAWFUL PUSHING TO DEATH OF A NIGERIAN WORKING WITH ARAB CONTRACTOR CONSTRUCTION COMPANY BY AN EXPATRIATE SUPERVISOR OF THE COMPANY”, the CLO said Lateef’s action was unjustifiable.he statement read in parts: “The Civil Liberties Organisation South-East Zone condemns the pushing to death of a Nigerian simply identified as Arinze, working with Arab Contractors Construction Company at their construction site of the new Enugu State secretariat, in front of the State Police Headquarters, Enugu. “We thank the Police authority for their timely intervention. Wecondemn this barbaric act in all ramifications. “This is not the first time we are receiving complaints of torture and brutalization of Nigerians by foreign workers working with some of these construction companies. “One of such was the case of Miracle Willy a worker with Setraco Construction Company, who was brutalized by his superior, an Arabian at the company’s’ Mpu site. “The Arabman even went further to direct the security men attached to him to further torture Willy for allegedly stealing something at the site. “Despite our intervention, nothing was done by the company to redress the wrong; instead Willy was dismissed from work. All these show how Nigerians have always been treated with disdain by these so called expatriates in the construction companies. “We condemn the brutal killing of Arinze and demand that the Police charge Mr. Abdul Lateef for murder. Nigerians cannot continue to be treated like animals in their own country”. The Enugu State Police Command is yet to issue official statement on the matter, but a senior police officer who spoke to DailyPost confirmed that Lateef was in their custody.

He Said My Private Parts Needed Deliverance’ – See How A Kogi State Pastor Raped & Impregnated Young Girl

Pastor and General Overseer of Zion International Christian Church, Idah, Kogi State, Pastor Kingsley has landed in trouble for his alleged uncontrolled sexual appetite.
The pastor is alleged to have slept with one Mary, his Sunday School teacher’s daughter on the pretext that the lady was possessed with demons which could only be exorcised through sex.
According to the state Commissioner of Police, Seidu Madawaki who paraded the suspect before newsmen, the bubble burst for Pastor Kingsley when his attempt to abort the resulting pregnancy was refused by the victim.
After impregnating the girl, he attempted to abort the pregnancy by giving her some
liquid substances mixed with olive oil which she refused to drink”, he said.
Speaking with Crime Watch, the victim said she came to join her parents from the village around November last year when the pastor spotted her in the church on the pretext that she had ‘a wild demonic spirit’ in her and then ordered her to see him after the church service for deliverance.
Frightened, she said she went to meet the pastor immediately after the service.
“He told me that my waist and private parts have been ravaged by demons and until deliverance was carried out, I may not be able to have any child in life.

The Man of God’ frightened me and said he would only cast out the demons from me through sexual intercourse but he warned me not to tell anybody on the mode of deliverance.
After praying into an olive oil, he asked me to undress while he rubbed my waist and private parts with the anointing oil mixed with some substances , he then undressed himself and used the same oil on his private part before he descended on me and started to do the thing.”
But I discovered that I was pregnant last week when my mother noticed my conduct and I had to reveal everything to her even though he warned me not to tell anybody,” She revealed.
However, the 37-year old pastor denied the allegation saying, that all he did was to cast out the demons in her, using the anointing oil.
He said that some church members who were envious of his spiritual rise were the ones who ganged up against him because his ministry was experiencing ‘exponential growth’.

Presidency, Finance Ministry Pressure Nigeria Customs To Disown Waiver Abuse Report Indicting Okonjo-Iweala -

By Bassey Udo
The top hierarchy of the Nigeria Customs Service, NCS, have come under intense pressure from the Presidency and the Minister of Finance, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, to denounce reports in the media alleging serial abuses in the N1.4trillion import tariff waivers granted by government between 2011 and 2013.
PREMIUM TIMES had on Tuesday published a detailed report, based on a document sourced from the Customs, how more than 65 percent of incentives granted as waivers and concessions for exports were for questionable goods imported by privileged cronies of those in power.
Online news website, Saharareporters and Daily Trust also reported extensively on the report.
The report contradicted the claims by the Minister of Finance, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, and chronicled how a whooping N1.4 trillion was given out as incentives to various individuals and companies for importing goods with no direct significance to government’s purported commitment to promoting the growth of the country’s economy.
Some of the unapproved goods for which several billions of Naira were waived include rice, fish, kolanuts and household items.
The minister, who reportedly felt unsettled by the report, was said to have called the Comptroller General of Customs, Abdullahi Dikko Inde, to express the concern of the Presidency about how the highly classified information on the waiver regime was leaked to the press.
Sources close to the presidency, the finance ministry and the customs said the presidency and the ministry, claiming the report thoroughly embarrassed the government, are asking Mr. Inde to take steps to profusely deny the document originated from the customs service and describe the report as a forgery.
“The Customs Comptroller General is under tremendous pressure as we speak,” one of our sources said. “They are threatening to sack him if he does not disown the report. He loves his job and we do not know at this time if he would budge.
“He has also been asked to do discreet investigation to identify the staff who leaked the document to the media.”
The pressure on the Customs hierarchy over the report appears normal for a government which recently compelled the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, Lamido Sanusi, to recant a claim in a memo to President Goodluck Jonathan that the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation had diverted more than $49.8billion (N8trilion) of the country’s oil revenue.
Mr. Sanusi had accused the NNPC of systematically diverting more than 76 per cent of revenues realized from crude oil sales between January 2012 and July 2013, paying only 24 per cent of the proceeds from all crude oil sales within the period into the federation account.
Angered by the memo, the Presidency reportedly called the CBN governor and threatened to sack him if he did not deny the report, which was considered embarrassing and in bad taste.
The governor was to later address the press in company with Mrs. Okonjo-Iweala and her counterpart in the Ministry of Petroleum Resources, Diezani Alison-Madueke, to announce that a part of the missing funds had been reconciled. The Mrs. Okonjo-Iweala claimed only $10.8billion was outstanding while Mr. Sanusi said at least $12billion had not been accounted for
Mrs. Okonjo-Iweala, had in her response to the 50 questions posed to her by the House of Representatives Committee on Finance on the state of the country’s economy, said only about N171billion was lost to waivers and concession for the three years.
PREMIUM TIMES findings, however, fundamentally contradicted the Minister, with the true figure found to have been higher by about 741 per cent.
Still, the minister insisted on Monday, at the presentation of the 2014 budget in Abuja, that the figure was not a “loss” to the nation, as granting of import waivers and concessions was a policy adopted by advanced countries to grow their economy and create jobs.
“These policies, which come in significant figures in several billions of Naira, are what enable the manufacturing industries to be competitive and be able to expand, despite the constraints of competition, and production, to be able to create jobs,” she said.
“There is no question of loss to the country when it is government policy,” the Minister’s spokesperson, Paul Nwabuikwu said in a statement. “The policy choice is between customs revenue and incentive revenues for industries. The government chose the latter because we believe the country stands to gain more from the incentives.”

Trader stabbed to death in Ladipo market

A trader has been stabbed to death as fresh crisis erupted at Ladipo auto spareparts market in Mushin, Lagos State.
According to reports, the trader, simply identified as Sunny, was stabbed and he later bled to death during a fight that broke out at the market when some aggrieved traders stormed the market union’s office and chased the executives away.
The traders were calling for the dissolution of Ladipo Auto Central Executive Committee, LACEC, the central body of the union.
The aggrieved traders said the leaders had breached all the agreements they had with the Lagos State government when the market was shut.
They feared that if the executives were allowed to remain, the state government might close the market again to their disadvantage.
They listed some of the offences as street trading, parking on roads and collection of illegal tolls, using thugs to harass and intimidate traders and customers.
According to the reports, the protest later resulted in fracas between the two groups which caused the death of Sunday.
The police at Olosan Division later recovered the body of the victim and deposited it at an undisclosed mortuary in Lagos.

According to Glendale police, Burlew told them that she and Ash would often get involved in auto-erotic asphyxiation games prior to having sex.
