CNPP Commends G-5 Governors For Dumping PDP

Conference of Nigerian Political Parties (CNPP) has commended Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Amechi of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for saving Nigeria from further division by ethnic-jingoist.

CNPP made the commendation in a statement on Saturday through its National Publicity Secretary, Osita Okechukwu.

The umbrella body of all registered political parties saluted the G-5 governors for “finally deleting dictatorial one party system from Nigeria’s political lexicon, by decamping from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to APC”.

CNPP made it clear that the action of the G5-Governors was the simulation of the much needed balance of power in the country’s political terrain.

The statement reads further: “It is a master-stroke because today, power is balanced in Nigeria with two dominant political parties, one conservative, one progressive, equal in strength, equal in spread in all the wards, local government areas, States and National Assembly, which provides the electorate the alternative to choose from.

“The G-5 has catapulted Nigeria into the zenith of liberal democracy, where autocracy, dictatorship and arrogance are reduced to barest minimum and where compromise reigns and no party actually rules” it stated.

The CNPP however singled out, His Excellency Rotimi Chibuike Amechi, governor of River State for commendation, for his role in re-positioning Nigerian democracy and indeed saving our fledgling democracy from the hands of “Ethnic-Jingoists”.

Ex-Footballer Discovers All 3 Kids From 20 Years Of Marriage Are Not His

Former Ghanaian international footballer Nii Odartey Lamptey has revealed that he recently found out that all three children he had with his wife of almost 20 years are not his biological children. He made the shocking revelation in a radio interviewed when asked why he was divorcing his wife.

“...I thought they were my children but upon a DNA test, I got to know that they are not my biological children. The issue is in court so I’m pleading, because it is a legal issue I don’t want to go through so many things, but I am 100% sure that the children are not mine after 20-years of marriage. We had five children but two passed away so we were left with only 3 and they are not mine" The former Aston Villa player told reporters

Meanwhile, his estranged wife Gloria Lamptey (pictured above) is claiming that it was Lamptey who suggested they use artificial insemination after realizing he was infertile. A claim Lamptey denies. A close friend of the former Anderlecht footballer said he'd on several occasions caught his wife cheating on him but stayed with her because of his love for her and the businesses they own together.

The estranged couple are now in court

OUTRAGE: How 409 Nigerians Are Being Discriminated in South African Prisons

409 Nigerians serving jail terms in South Africa......

The House of Representatives has
come out to condemn the ill-treatment and discrimination against Nigerians living in South Africa, stressing that over 409 convicts were currently serving jail terms there.

Mrs. Abike Dabiri-Erewam, the Chairman of the House Committee on Diaspora, disclosed this in a statement issued after the committee’s visit to two prisons in South Africa. She described the increasing number of Nigerians in foreign prisons as “ridiculously embarrassing.”

Abike Dabiri-Erewa
The representative of Ikorodu Federal Constituency in Lagos State, Dabiri-Erewa, who visited the prisons alongside two members of the committee, Ajibola Famurewa and Umaru Shidanfi, consular officers of the Nigerian Embassy and executives of the Nigerian Union in South Africa, disclosed that over 400,000 Nigerians were currently living in South Africa.

During her interaction with some inmates, the lawmaker explained that some of them confessed that they had been denied their freedom, despite completing their jail terms.

“The inmates complained of extreme discrimination by the prison authorities in South Africa. The law enforcement officers always maltreat citizens of Nigeria for unjustifiable reasons. Sometimes, the authorities tore into pieces their Nigerian passports among several other allegations and refused to grant them bail, while others from other countries that committed similar bailable offence were granted bail.”

Peter Okoye Finally Reacts To Story That His Family Is Against His Marriage

Newbie (m) | yesterday at 11:11 PM

Peter Okoye in an new interview
with Encomium has denied the
stories that his family members
were not in support of his
marriage to wife Lola.
Or that that was the reason his
elder brother Jude didn't attend
his wedding.

In the chat, Peter said:Is there
any iota of truth in the tale that
your family didn’t support the
wedding?
That is very far from being the
truth. I saw some of those
reports and was full of laughter. Everybody is just laughing because the reports are
like
comedy to us. Honestly, there is no iota of truth in the rumour. But it’s one of the
prices you pay as a celebrity, so I remain focused.

How would you describe your wife?
Honestly, she is a wonderful woman. She has virtually all the qualities that every
man would want in his ideal woman. She’s caring, loving, God-fearing, hard
working – just name it, that’s my wife for you.

What are the sterling qualities that endeared her to your heart?
I just said that now. No man will not want to spend the rest of his life with a woman
that possesses the qualities I mentioned.

Why was the wedding delayed till now despite you having all it takes to be
a husband?
The truth is that we have always known that the wedding will come up. We just
didn’t want to rush things unnecessarily. We waited for the right time.

Entertainers are not used to keeping one woman, how is your own case
going to be different?
Entertainers don’t keep one woman? I don’t think so.

27 Pro-Amaechi Lawmakers Support Defection To APC

PRO-AMAECHI LAWMAKERS
PRO-AMAECHI LAWMAKERS
The 27 pro-Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi lawmakers of the Rivers State House of Assembly have declared their unwavering support to the governor on his decision to join the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The declaration was made on Friday by Deputy Speaker of the House of Assembly, Leyii Kwanee, while speaking with reporters in Port Harcourt, the state capital.
Kwanee justified Governor Amaechi’s defection to the opposition, saying that his continued stay in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) would have been a disservice to Rivers people.
“We are with him for the decision he has taken so far. As it relates to the House, we are aware of the relevant sections of the law as relates to, and we will confine and ensure that we do not flout the law, when we also move with the governor. So, rest assured that we are with the governor”, he said.
Kwanee, who represents Khana Constituency II in the Assembly, reminded Rivers people that the governor’s patience was stretched beyond limits just as he endured all the persecution that came his way because President Goodluck Jonathan comes from the South-south.
He further said that Rivers State had suffered a lot under the PDP leadership and cited several instances to support his claim.
He mentioned the case of Soku oil field, which was ceded to Bayelsa State; the security helicopter acquired by Rivers government with approval of the Federal Government but has been denied entrance into the Nigerian air space and the Rivers aircraft that was grounded by the Aviation Ministry; which he pointed out were for political reasons.
Adding to the list of the state’s endless sufferings under the PDP-led federal government, Kwanee said that the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) report which affected the state, particularly the Ogonis, was treated with disdain, and many other things accruing to the state from the federation were denied it by the federal government.

Obio/Akpor Council Dissolution: Chairman, Deputy, Others Defy Amaechi’s Order, Vow To Abide By High Court Ruling

OBIO/AKPOR LOCAL GOVERNMENT COUNCIL OCCUPIED BY SECURITY OPERATIVES
OBIO/AKPOR LOCAL GOVERNMENT COUNCIL OCCUPIED BY SECURITY OPERATIVES
The political crisis in Rivers State might not come to an end anytime soon if the resolve of elected officials of Obio/Akpor Local government Council in the state not to obey Governor Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi’s order dissolving the council is anything to go by.
Amaechi had on Thursday night announced the dissolution of Obio/Akpor Local Government Council through a statement issued by the Secretary to the State Government, Mr. George Feyii but Chairman of the council, Prince Timoth Nsirim, his deputy, Mr Solomon Eke; and the 17 councillors of the council have vowed to remain in office following their reinstatement by a Rivers State High Court ruling on Monday.
In the statement announcing the dissolution of the council in accordance with the Rivers State Local Government Law No. 2 of 2012, Gov. Amaechi directed Nsirim to hand over to the Head of Personnel Management (HPM) of Obio/Akpor Local Government Council, Mr. Singer Azubuike Singer.
But Nsirim, while speaking to journalists yesterday insisted that he would abide by the court judgment which re-instated him as the chairman of the council.
Adopting a tougher position on why they would not obey the governor’s dissolution order and vacate the secretariat, Vice Chairman, Mr. Solomon Eke, warned Amaechi to stop treating Rivers State like his father’s company.
He said, “Rivers state is not his (Amaechi’s) father’s company; he does not have any say as far as Obio/Akpor is concerned until he gets the court to vacate its order. The court has told him to hands off Obio/Akpor until the elected officers complete their three-year tenure. He should respect the court judgement.
“If he does not obey the court, we cannot obey whatever directives or order he gives. Whatever order he gives on Obio/Akpor will be flouted by us”.
Eke also the so-called Singer, who the chairman was directed to hand-over to, was not known to them and wondered if the head of personnel management was the highest civil servant of the council if at all they were to obey the dissolution order.
According to him, “Singer is not the highest ranking civil servant in the council. The head of local government is the highest civil servant in the council. We did not create the law. Besides, I do not know Singer. I have not seen him before. Perhaps, he is the HPM appointed by the caretaker committee. If he is a worker in the council, why did he not resume in the council when others resumed? The civil servants we know all resumed work with us when the court delivered judgment and the council secretariat was re-opened. So, I don’t know where he is coming from”.

SPECTACULAR: Longest Bridge In Asia Destroyed By Massive Fire (PHOTOS)

The longest covered bridge in Asia has been destroyed after a fire roared through the wooden structure last night.
The Feng Yu Covered Bridge, in Chongqing, China, is known throughout the Far East for its traditional beauty topped by a pagoda-style roof that stretched 303 metres across the region’s Apeng River.
But last night the five-metre-wide crossing, first built in 1591, collapsed into the waters as the blaze turned it to ashes.

Firefighters battled through the night in a bid to quell the flames, but by the time they got them under control it was too late.
By morning all that was left were its row of charred stone bases surrounded by blackened driftwood floating in the waters.
article-2515693-19b6b9fb00000578-66_634x392
Authorities have now launched an investigation into what caused the fire.
First built in 1591 and also known as the ‘Luck Bridge’ and ‘Flower Bridge,’ it was constructed entirely of wood without any nails.
Destroyed and re-built several times over the centuries – most recently in 1999 when its wooden base was replaced by stone – it has always been the transportation fortress of Hunan-Guizhou highroad as well as a busy place with merchants and tourists.
The bridge has been likened to a dragon and it contains both intricate architectural features as well as artistic carvings.

House Of Reps Member Died After Sleeping With Female Banker, Woman Arrested

A member of the House of Representatives from Ondo
State died in the early hours of yesterday after what
security sources said was a s*xual affair with a
female banker in his private residence located at
Gwarinpa Estate in Abuja.
Rep. Raphael Oloye Nomiye, who was 50 years old,
was until his death representing Ondo, Ilaje, Ese Odo
in Ondo State under the platform of the Labour Party.
The lawmaker was said to have died shortly after an
affair with the banker (names withheld). The
spokesperson of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT)
police command, Hyelhira Altine Daniel, confirmed
the incident, saying the command was still
investigating the cause of the legislator’s death.
When Sunday Trust visited the deceased’s residence
at Second Avenue in Gwarinpa Estate, neighbours and
witnesses said the banker, who managed his
accounts, was said to have rushed down for the one-
storey building to inform the policemen on guard at
the house that “oga just fell down and is vomiting
blood.”
They said when the policemen entered into his room
upstairs, they found him laying on the floor with a
towel tied round his waist, while he bled from the
mouth. He was then quickly taken to a private clinic
on 3rd Avenue within the estate in his official Toyota
Camry 2012 car with Registration Number 148B Rep.
It was further learnt that doctors at clinic declined to
attend to him, saying it was a “serious” matter,
following which he was then rushed to the National
Hospital, Abuja, where he was later pronounced dead.
Police sources disclosed that the banker, who is now
in police custody at the Gwarinpa Police Division, had
earlier denied having s*xual affair with the lawmaker
before his death.
But she was said to have changed her statement after
doctors at the National Hospital conducted an
examination on corpse, which confirmed that the
deceased had slept with a woman shortly before his
demise.
The sources said after the test, the banker admitted to
interrogators that she had actually slept with the
deceased and had helped him to clean up, following
which he went into the bathroom, where he suddenly
fell and began to vomit blood.
Police investigators who inspected the lawmaker’s
house had succeeded in recovering some items,
including a bottle of water, which the deceased
lawmaker had drank from some tissue papers and the
clothes the deceased had worn earlier in the day,
Sunday Trust gathered.
When our reporters visited the banker’s private
residence located at Kado Estate in Abuja, two of her
professional friends, who spoke on the condition of
anonymity, said the banker and Raphael had been
friends. They, however, denied knowledge of the
lawmaker’s death.
An investigation by Sunday Trust also revealed that
although the late lawmaker was married, his wife and
children were not living with him in Abuja.
As at press time, there was no official statement from
his family or the House, but a lawmaker in the Lower
Chamber confirmed the lawmaker’s demise. He
added, however, that the House would make an
official statement until it received formal notification
from Nomiye’s family.
“I heard of his death, but we’re yet to get any official
statement from his family or any doctor. The House
will make an official statement when it eventually
receives confirmation from his family,” said the
source.
When contacted, the Deputy Chairman of the House of
Representatives Committee on Media and Publicity,
Victor Ogene, said he was yet to get an official
confirmation of the death and, as such, wouldn’t
comment on it.

“Iyanya was bounced at Davido’s 21st birthday party which held at Pavada Lounge Thursday night.
Witnesses said, most people who weren’t invited where not allowed to get in, and if you must, you must call one of the HKN group members, who will come out and take you in.
Most people who felt they should be in, called Kamal, a member of Davido’s group who was always in and out taking guests in. But when Iyanya got to the entrance, the bouncers said he couldn’t get it.
People around told them it was Iyanya, but the bouncers still refused and said if he must get in, he should call Davido or Kamal. Iyanya tried making a call, but no one picked, he got angry nodding his head as he left.
A lot of people didn’t understand what was going on and it soon became a hot topic among guests at the party.
